How it WorksWebOpinion, is using a focused crawler and the search API's of the more popular social sites, explores the Web looking for opinionated texts and reviews about a particular product, brand or service. That searched information is indexed and processed using sentiment analysis and opinion mining techniques. Sentiment analysis and opinion mining are two areasrelated to Natural Language Processing and Web Text Mining that deal with the identification of opinions and attitudes in natural language texts. The objective is the computational study of opinions, sentiments and emotions expressed in texts. For it, NEE algorithms (Named Entity Extration), POS taggining and other techniques related to computational linguistics are used with the objective of solving alias or anaphoras and then obtain in a precise way the polarity of each opinion. WebOpinion also considers the visibility and the level of influence of each opinion in the Web, because it's not the same the impact of a comment that can be seen by 10 people than one that can be seen by 10.000. To establish these values an index with the authority of the source is created. The index is calculated using different parameters as the relevance in the principal search engines of the page with the opinion, the views of the video that have the comment in Youtube, the followers of the author in Twitter ... The final objective is to generate an information that a client could understand in an easy and fast way to evaluate the image and the general opinion that exist about him in the Web. Having the option of knowing which opinions are more relevant or can have a bigger impact on the brand image. |
